There are many types of television lifts available, and the many options allows you to select the type of lift that will work best in your home. But, some of our customers wonder how they should select the type of television lift to have installed. Are there advantages or disadvantages to the different types of lifts that are available? Here are a few points for you to consider:
Lift Pedestals for a Television
One of the more popular styles is a TV pedestal lift where the television is stored within a cabinet, and it lifts out on a pedestal when it is needed. The advantage is that the cabinet can be customized to match the decor in the room. There are different types of wood colors to choose from, and it can be a beautiful piece of furniture to help decorate the room when the television is not in use.
Another advantage to a pedestal TV lift is the fact that you don’t need to cut into the wall or ceiling to have it installed. Some people are concerned about making permanent changes to their home by installing the TV within the wall or ceiling, and a pedestal gives you the option to have the furniture automation that can be easily moved around the room.
Built-In TV Lifts
Another type of TV lift to consider is the kind that is built into your wall or ceiling. These can be luxurious and space-saving, and we often install them in RVs or boats. The advantage of these ultra-silent TV lift options is that you can conserve floor space and tabletop space by storing the television completely out of sight.
When this type of lift is installed, it can be either recessed into the walls or ceiling, or a cabinet can be built to create the TV storage space.
