Pop up TV cabinets are becoming more and more popular for many homeowners. The disadvantage to using a pop up TV cabinet is that they tend to be very expensive. Therefore, many have decided to build their own to the exact specifications of the commercial ones, for a fraction of the price.

1. Measure and buy the necessary supplies: Individuals who are able to create their own furniture are making the decision to also create their own pop up TV cabinets. There are many styles to choose from, but the process of making your own basic remote controlled cabinet is pretty simple.  Simply plan out how your cabinet will look and draw it out. Stick to the pattern that you’ve designed. Be sure to include doors and sturdy hinges for them. Select high quality wood or you can purchase an old cabinet from a thrift store and modify it. Also, remember to make sure that the cabinet is large enough to accept the dimensions of your television.

2. Properly prepare:  Be sure to have the correct dimensions for the size of your television and the interior space in which it will be housed. Cut the pieces of wood to suit the fashion and style you decided on. Next, have all the necessary tools on hand, such as the drills, screws, spirit level, tape measure, wood glue, and any other electronic equipment necessary.

3. Build the pop up TV cabinet: Build and assemble your pop up TV cabinet before you put your television inside of it. The back of the cabinet will need to be secured enough to hold the total weight of the television. You can use screws and wood glue to build the cabinet and make sure that it is sturdy. Remember to cut a hole in the back of the cabinet for all your cords and leads. Next, you’ll want to attach the electronic mechanism for your remote control device. Carefully follow the manufacturers’ instructions for installation.  Be extra careful with any wires that need to be attached and any electronic hazards.

That’s it; you’ve assembled your very own pop up TV cabinet. You can add some finishing touches to it, like wood stand or paint if you like. Other than that, you are now read to place your TV inside.
