There are several reasons you may want to mount your television to the wall. Mounting your flat screen television can give your living room a more streamlined look, free up space, and keep your television safe from being knocked over or having stuff spilled on it.

One of the great things about mounting your flat screen television is you can actually do it yourself with just a basic understanding of your tools. If you can hang a picture, you can be pretty sure you will be able to mount your TV.  You only need a handful of tools to get the job done, most of which you probably already own.

It only takes about an hour and the help of one or two of your friends to install TV wall mounts. The best part of installing TV wall mounts is that you can save a ton of money by not paying a professional to do it for you.

There are a few things you need to keep in mind when mounting your TV. Always make sure you have the proper tools before you start (and be sure they work correctly) so that you don’t have to stop in the middle of your project to track them down, and to avoid any unnecessary injuries or messing up your wall or the television.

When you measure and find the studs in your wall, always measure two or three times. It is better to be sure you are in the right spot to avoid ruining your wall or making your TV wall mount unstable. If you do not mount your hardware on the studs, you can bet your television will fall.

Read the instructions that come with your television and mounting system carefully. You want to be sure the wall mount system you choose will work with your television. Some TV mounting systems have different weight limits.
