Before You Fall In Love With A TV Lift, Consider The Installation
With so many different types of TV lifts on the market, it can be overwhelming trying to make the “right” decision. You might be considering one of those LED TV ceiling lifts. Or maybe you had a remote control TV lift in mind?
Before you commit to one over the other, allow us to outline a couple basic pros and cons of TV floor lifts.
The TV Lift Pros
There are many advantages to installing hidden lifts in your home. TV floor lifts really bring that wow factor to a room. They’re slick and stylish and they become a real talking point. For those with a minimalist design, a TV hidden in the floor can save loads of space, as you won’t need a TV stand. It can also be great for young families, as when the TV is out of sight, it can’t be knocked over.
And because the above floor space only needs to be able to accommodate the TV itself, there’s greater freedom in tighter spaces.
The TV Lift Cons
Not every home is built to accommodate a hidden lift. Those without a basement, a beam foundation or a crawl space may not be eligible.
Also, not every part of your home will be suitable for a floor lift. It can’t be in a place where there will be spills or a lot of foot traffic. Usually a location near a big piece of furniture or next to a wall is ideal.
Before You Decide
Placement is key for the aforementioned reasons, as well as one other one that may be getting lost in the shuffle here: viewing. It’s easy to get lost in the idea of hiding your TV, but it’s just as critical to remember how much you’ll be watching it.
