Many people probably grew up with those huge televisions in their living room, or their grandparents’ living room. They were the television sets that sat directly on the floor, and were massive pieces of furniture. Televisions of course, evolved and became a bit smaller. People then started placing them in grandiose entertainment units, or placing them in a cabinet that had doors that closed, so the TV could be put away when not in use. But still, these pieces of furniture caused problems. Sure they held the TV, but they were still huge pieces of furniture that didn’t look very nice and that took up a huge amount of spent. And then came the television lift.

When television lifts first came out, they were considered to be some of the most luxurious pieces of furniture that anyone could ever have. Having them in private homes was unheard of when they first came out. They were reserved for only the most luxurious hotels, with only the most high-profile clients. Because of their sleek design, and the innovative ‘wow’ factor they have when they appear from a wall, a cabinet, or a ceiling, TV lifts were considered to be extremely modern amenities and therefore, not something that everyone could afford.

Once television lifts took over the hotel industry, they then started making their way in other industries as well. Institutions such as colleges and hospitals started using them because televisions were necessary to have, but the organizations that needed them often didn’t have the space to accommodate them. So television lifts started appearing in even more places and in even more areas. As a result, the price of television lifts also started dropping.

Today, lots of people have television lifts installed in their home, and that number is always growing! They are still considered to be some of the most modern and most contemporary pieces of furniture that you could have but, they are not nearly as exclusive as they once were. In fact, television lifts have been seen in homes for over a decade now, and they are only getting more affordable and more accessible every day!
