Whether you are looking into TV wall mounts for your home, yacht, or business, the first thing you’re going to be faced with is the fact that there are a lot of options out there these days. Even if you more or less know that you want to use an arm mount, you have the choice of stationary arm mounts or swivel mounts.

So, how do you decide whether you need your TV wall mounts to swivel or whether stationary TV wall mounts will do? Generally speaking, stationary wall mounts are less expensive. When cost is an issue, many people choose a stationary arm mount or other type of stationary TV wall mounts.

There are two major reasons why a person may consider TV wall mounts swivel. One is if they often watch television from different, adjacent rooms. The other is if they lack a place to place standard TV wall mounts which allows a good view from the entire room.

If you move from room to room a lot, having TV wall mounts swivel is useful because you can continue watching your programs without needing a separate television set in every room of the house. You can simply place the swivel mount need the entryway between the two rooms and swivel the television set to meet your needs.

Even if you do most of your television viewing in a single room, having TV mounts swivel can be useful because it allows you to angle the TV for best viewing from any part of the room. Maybe Dad watches Monday Night Football in his Laz-E-Boy recliner and wants the TV to face the west wall of the room. That would be fine except that the kids usually sit on the couch on the opposite wall when they watch SpongeBob. Having TV wall mounts that swivel solves the problem (unless SpongeBob happens to be on during MNF).

If you have a place where a standard arm mount (or even a regular TV wall mount) will allow anyone in the room to get a good view of the television, then a swivel wall mount is probably unnecessary. It’s still pretty cool, of course, but if you were going for cool, you would probably go all out and get a hidden ceiling TV lift, right?
