A TV lift is a really cool piece of home automation equipment that many people are turning to in order to maximize space and update their homes or offices. With a TV lift you can conceal a television in the ceiling, the floor, or even a wall and bring it out whenever you want to use it with the simple touch of a button. TV lifts aren’t just a convenience for your home, they are also really cool mechanically. A TV lift works in the following ways:

  • Platform – The platform is what holds the television in place. The television is firmly attached to the platform to keep it safe during the movement of the unit itself.
  • Ceiling casters – Ceiling casters are used for concealing a television in the ceiling. It is what allows the TV to drop or fold down from the ceiling for viewing. Casters make for a smooth ride up or down.
  • Lifting Mechanism – The platform holding a TV is lifted up, dropped down, or slid out to bring the television out of concealment in the floor, ceiling, or wall. This is a process that uses jacking casters to create movement of the platform.
  • Controls – Controls are used to bring the television out from hiding. These can be a simple rocker switch that you touch or a more high tech touchscreen that allows you to tilt and angle the television from afar. Many controls are operated remotely while others are wired into a wall or someplace nearby.
