Most flat screen televisions come with some sort of pedestal stand. While these are (more or less) functional, they’re certainly not the best way to mount a new flat screen. Practically any kind of flat TV wall mount is better than just setting the TV up on its stand.

For one thing, pedestal stands aren’t particularly well balanced (generally). Pets, kids, or a clumsy moment of your own can send your new flat screen TV crashing to the ground, pedestal stand and all. Television wall mounts present a better way to mount your flat screen TV.

Not all television wall mounts are created equally, of course. Television wall mounts range from very simple mounting systems which hold your TV securely on a flat wall to high tech floor and ceiling TV lifts which can lift or lower your television with the touch of a remote control button, hiding your TV when it’s not in use.

There’s nothing wrong with going simple, if that’s your preference. You can get a flat TV wall mount very inexpensively. On the other hand, those who have an appreciation for the finer things in life will enjoy the contemporary luxury of flat screen TV lifts, floor and ceiling lift units, and cabinet-style flat screen TV lifts.

Even if you decide to mount your flatscreen on the wall, there are still several different kinds of flat TV wall mount. You’ll want to make sure any mount you purchase and install is solidly constructed. It simply doesn’t make sense to invest in a quality television and mount it on a cheap, flimsy mounting system.

If you use a wall mount, consider using a swivel or swivel and tilt flat TV wall mount. These will allow you to get a superior view of your set regardless of where you sit.

Everyone’s different, and every home/living room is different. Choose television wall mounts that work for you and your home. Ultimately, the point of buying television wall mounts is so you can best enjoy your new flat screen TV.
