When you spend the money on a top of the line television, you want to get the most out of your viewing experience. Whether you’re a do-it-yourselfer or are having your television professionally installed, there are a few things you’ll want to consider.
The most important thing to consider with a new HD TV is placement. This is especially important if you are using permanent lift systems (and in most cases, you should). You want your television places where it can be viewed from the entire room or area where it is placed. Before making your decision regarding where to place your HD TV, try moving the furniture around. Experiment with the layout of the room. HD TV lifts offer you the best viewing experience available, but if you use floor or ceiling lift systems, the placement is permanent, so you want to make sure you get the TV where you want it.
If you are the type who likes to change around the furniture or layout of the room frequently, you may consider using a cabinet lift instead of floor or ceiling HD TV lifts. Cabinet lifts don’t free up floor space the way other lifts do, but the tradeoff is that they can be moved around easily, making redecorating easier.
Even if you don’t use lift systems, it’s important to make sure that the television is mounted properly. You’ll want to place the TV where it can be seen from the entire room (alternately, you could use a swivel arm mount, which allows you to turn the TV easily). If you mount the TV on the wall, it’s important to make sure the job is done properly so that your TV will be stable.
Another thing you’ll want to consider is the sound. Unless you really know your stuff (or really like to tinker), we’d suggest calling in some help to install your speakers. Placing speakers for surround sound systems is as much an art as a science and it takes a little know-how to get the premium quality sound you’ll want.
